YourNewPuppyLLC

So anyone who has spoken to me in the past week knows that my new fixation is the store, YourNewPuppyLLC. The store recently started renting space in the Liberty Market Kroger plaza. My initial thought was: how does this store generate enough money to rent space in that plaza? Most dog breeders that I know do it for the love of the breed and simply want to recoup money that was spent in breeding the best possible dog (whether it be for show or pet).

YourNewPuppyLLC clearly is not a breeder. Broker, maybe. But not a breeder.

Let's start with the website. The website is a real gem. Since when do having acres and acres of land along with a pond that has ducks make you a good breeder. If anything, I think you might be too busy cutting grass and feeding ducks to spend time with the puppies. Clearly you are too busy to fill in the FAQ section of the website (this would be a great place to defend yourself as upon further research, realize that others have questioned your business).

Some constructive feedback: Consider removing the fact that one of the owners bred guinea pigs with 4-H since he was 13. Doesn't really have anything to do with breeding dogs in a responsible manner.

When is the last time you said to yourself, "Self, I think I want a Cairn Bichon mix". Honestly? I get that it is a 'designer' dog that is a combination of at least two breeds. But honestly, just advertise 'Mutt' and move along. Oh wait, then it would be harder to capitalize on the stupidity of most people, huh? Perhaps you thought your business plan out a little more than I originally thought...

My heart broke when looking at the website of a bunch of puppies, most less than 16 weeks old, that were for sale for astronomical amounts of money. My heart broke even more when I read that the contract to purchase does not require spaying/neutering, but rather recommends. This is very irresponsible. The contract also doesn't require a containment system of any kind nor does it request follow-up visits. The absence of all of these things will attract an irresponsible owner.

There are so many dogs in the pound that I can't fathom why anyone would pay good money for a 'designe.... hell, let's just call it what it is... a mutt. Specifically, a 'Poodle Mix' for $249. Honestly?

So the answer to the question of 'how does the store make money' is rather simple: The owners of YourNewPuppyLLC broker and breed puppies and sell them to the general populace for astronomical amounts of money when compared to what I can get a mutt for at the pound. I can only guess that they sell all of their puppies since there were no older dogs available for adoption (even though the website says that they will adopt out dogs that do not get purchased as puppies). This confirms my suspicion that there are ALOT of really dumb people in the world. Or, the store is lying and the dogs get shipped to the pound. I choose to believe that each and every puppy found a good and loving home. However, I am confused how an older dog doesn't have any rabies vaccination... don't most get the first shot pretty early in life?

I am planning a protest of the store. I recognize that protesting is very unpopular among my friends and family, but when will this kind of dog prostitution stop?

By the way, Schumann and Tiny are relieved that dog prostitution is still legal and are looking forward to their first rendezvous....
