Facebook Trends That Are Stupid

I admit that I've succombed to using Facebook. I'm not quite an addict. But it is a way to piss away hours that should be used working or reading.

INSTEAD, I am choosing to see that a 'friend' became a fan of "Laughing". Honestly? How do you become a fan of 'Laughing'? Who isn't a fan of 'Laughing'? Should I become a fan of 'Breathing', because let's face it, that is what allows me to feel self-important as I post random crap on Facebook in a desperate attempt to have folks look-at-me.

Another trend that I find terribly annoying is quiz-taking. People: you realize that I can create a quiz, you take it, and somehow affect how you feel about yourself? That is insane. I'm a jackass in Cincinnati that has absolutely no insight into how people are (clearly demonstrated by a plethora of choices that I have made in life). Yet, you believe that you are a 'thinker' or are 'the sweet one' because a quiz told you?

I also curse the folks that post minute-by-minute activities of their day. I get that you have a cell phone with the ability to use Facebook Mobile (which I contend should be illegal). However, I don't need to know that you left the house. That you arrived somewhere. That you bought something. That you ran into somebody. That you liked it.

Finally, I am annoyed by the ex-boyfriends who have crawled out of the woodwork to say hello and see how things are. I'm not real sure why other then to see if your wife is hotter than me, or if I finally self-imploded in my own self-righteousness, or if someone finally punched me. Whatever the reason, there is a good chance that your wife is indeed hotter than me, that I did indeed implode due to my own self-righteousness, or that someone finally punched me. So don't ask me to be a 'friend' because I don't care that you are a fan of 'Oreos' or that you went to Kroger.
