Shooting Dogs and Flopping Cats

My favorite story of the week: Blue Ash Police Kill Biting Dog.

My personal favorite aspect of the Blue Ash Dog Killer story is the slideshow of the deceased dog that Channel 9 put up on its website. Touching, really. The only thing that would have made it better is if the slideshow had been set to "Wind Beneath My Wings" or better yet, "Who Let The Dogs Out"? Oh, that's right: THE OWNERS let the damn dog out. 'Nuff said.

The following question was posed to me: If you were driving in rush hour traffic in the heart of suburbia, and saw a flopping cat in the middle of the road (clearly had been hit by a car), would you stop?

Nope. Next question please.

I'm all about handling things humanely, but only if it doesn't put others at risk.

Waaaaiiiiitttt, was this what the Blue Ash police were thinking? Since the dog had already bitten a jogger earlier that evening, and the owners weren't around to quarantine the dog for 7-10 days, were the police concerned that the dog might bite again? Oh, wait, the dog DID bite again. The dog hadn't been vaccinated either. Honestly folks? You wonder why the yapping, biting, unvaccinated, unrestrained dog got capped? Honestly?
